Job description

Finance Business Partner - Ocean Cost Program - (2 year Project)

Do you want to help shape the cost competitiveness of Maersk's Ocean business, turn insights into business impact, and support strategic initiatives that deliver measurable financial results?

We Offer

At Maersk, our vision is to be the Global Integrator of container logistics, connecting and simplifying our customers' supply chains. A key enabler of this ambition is maintaining a cost-efficient, reliable and resilient Ocean network and best-in-class Operations.

You will be part of the Ocean Cost & Trades Finance team, a diverse and highly engaged finance organisation playing a central role in driving Ocean’s cost and performance agenda. Working closely with business leaders, finance colleagues, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will help identify, track, and realise cost optimisation opportunities across the Ocean business.

As Finance Business Partner for the Ocean Cost Program, you will support program execution through financial analysis, performance tracking, stakeholder coordination, and insight generation. You will help ensure transparency on the program performance, financial impact, risks, and opportunities while contributing to the successful delivery of strategic cost initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to combine business partnering, financial analysis, and project management in a highly visible role with exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic business priorities.

Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering & Cost Program Support:

Partner with workstream leads and stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and track cost optimisation initiatives, providing financial insights and recommendations to support program delivery and value creation.

Performance Management, Reporting & Analysis:

Drive transparency on program performance through reporting of financial impact and delivery progress. Translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights and recommendations, ensuring strong follow-up on actions and commitments.

Program Coordination & Governance:

Support program governance, including consolidation of initiatives, program reporting, preparation of SteerCo materials, and coordination across workstreams to drive alignment and execution.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

Collaborate with stakeholders across Ocean, Operations, and Finance to drive accountability and progress, while communicating program performance and outcomes.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

Build strong relationships across the organisation and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, simplification, and fact-based decision-making.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate has experience in finance business partnering, performance management, project coordination, or related analytical roles, with a strong interest in driving business performance through data-driven insights.

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, combined with 3-5 years of relevant experience in Finance Business Partnering or performance management roles. Experience in Shipping or Logistics is an advantage.

Key competencies are:
  • Advanced financial acumen and commercial expertise. Strong understanding of financial performance, cost drivers, and value creation, with the ability to translate insights into business decisions and measurable outcomes.
  • Proven analytical and agile mindset. Interprets complex data and critical details, identifies risks and opportunities, and translates insights into actionable recommendations while maintaining a strategic perspective.
  • Strong communication, storytelling and presentation skills. Develops clear, compelling presentations and materials that translate complex data into actionable insights and support effective decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder management, collaboration and execution focus. Builds trusted relationships across functions, drives alignment without formal authority, and ensures timely delivery of outcomes.
  • Strong technical skills and digital mindset. Combines analytical capabilities with a keen interest in AI, automation, and new technologies. Quickly adapts to new tools and identifies opportunities to improve processes, data quality, and decision-making.

We are looking for a motivated individual with a growth mindset who embraces continuous learning and new challenges. You are skilled in written and spoken English. Danish is not required.

NB: The role is a fixed-term position for 24 months.
