Job description

Experienced Medical Writer (one-year temporary position)
Global Regulatory & R&D Quality
Your impact begins here

As Experienced Medical Writer, you will turn complex clinical data into clear, accurate documents that move drug development forward. Covering maternity leave for one year in Regulatory Scientific Writing, you will lead the planning and preparation of the documents that support clinical trials and health authority submissions. Your work helps project teams communicate what trials show, on time and with confidence, so new treatments can reach people living with serious chronic diseases.

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • A Master’s degree within natural sciences (MSc, MSc Pharm or equivalent).
  • A track record of driving complex tasks from start to end while navigating a multidisciplinary group of stakeholders.
  • A high level of expertise in communicating scientific information, and the ability to tailor it to different objectives.
  • A good understanding of clinical development, regulatory processes and requirements, and clinical documents.
  • The ability to improve processes and promote the sharing of better practices.
  • Full proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Strong planning and coordination skills, and the ability to adapt to a changing environment with tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach: you manage stakeholders well, reach consensus and are not afraid to challenge the status quo.
Useful, but not essential:

A PhD and/or relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

What you’ll do

You will act as both writer and project manager, driving regulatory documents from first plan to final version.

  • Lead the planning, development and oversight of regulatory documents, including study protocols, informed consent forms, investigator’s brochures, clinical summaries, paediatric plans, briefing packages and responses to health agency questions.
  • Represent Regulatory Scientific Writing (RSW) on cross-functional project teams, advising on how to plan regulatory documents, what they require and how best to present the data.
  • Work with colleagues across Research & Development to make sure source information and data are reported accurately and completely, and interpreted scientifically.
  • Keep documents on track against project timelines and business needs.
  • Share better practices and look for simpler ways of working.
Who you’ll work with

You will join RSW, the medical writing function at Novo, with 200+ medical writers worldwide. RSW is part of Research & Development (R&D) and anchored together with Regulatory and Quality functional areas. R&D manages clinical drug development and submissions to health authorities worldwide, from early development to market authorisation. RSW covers all clinical drug development projects across therapy areas.

In project teams, your closest partners will be colleagues in Medical & Science, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Operations, Biostatistics and Pharmacovigilance, among others. You will work with colleagues in Denmark and abroad, and your clarity around timelines and data presentation will help these teams make decisions and move forward together. The position is office-based in Søborg, Denmark.

What you can expect here

This is a one-year temporary position. You will join a supportive culture that values continuous learning, being bold and striving for simplicity. You will be trusted to own your documents and make your voice heard in cross-functional teams, while growing your expertise alongside colleagues across R&D and the wider medical writing community.

For this role, the Annual Base Salary rangesfrom 570,200.00 - 838,100.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

Incentives and Benefits:

The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area, and relevant market benchmarks.
