Job summary

OJ Electronics A/S in Sønderborg, Denmark, is hiring a hands-on embedded software engineer to help develop real-time systems for energy-efficient heating solutions. You will work alongside hardware and cloud teams from idea to shipped firmware, tackling challenges in wireless communication, display technologies, and control-system engineering.

This on-site role requires C/C++ proficiency for embedded systems, experience with microcontrollers and RTOS, and strong debugging and documentation

Qualifications

Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
At least three years of work experience in embedded software development.
Experience with microcontrollers and real-time programming (FreeRTOS and/or bare metal).
Familiarity with embedded debugging tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, JTAG).
Understanding of hardware/software interfaces and schematics/datasheets.
Version control (Git + Git Flow) and CI/CD experience.
Knowledge of communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI).
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Strong written and spoken technical English.
Team-oriented and agile collaboration experience.
Willingness to work on-site in Sønderborg; remote not possible.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded C/C++ code for microcontrollers.
Integrate software with custom hardware.
Contribute to system design and architecture.
Maintain code quality through testing and refactoring (unit and integration tests).
Participate in agile ceremonies and code reviews.
