Job summary

GN Hearing in Ballerup is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Design for Value (DfV) to drive cost/value optimization across product development and manufacturing. You will collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain and external suppliers to ensure value targets are met from concept through mass production.

You bring engineering acumen, program leadership and sourcing experience, with strong communication in English, and you thrive in a global, cross-functional, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• A degree or similar within engineering, preferably electronics.
• Experience in platform/product development, supplier sourcing or cost/value optimization in R&D.
• Strong presentation, negotiation and English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and industrialization is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Optimize products by supporting cost/value analysis across modules and architecture.
• Investigate cost-effective design and manufacturability; map value/cost opportunities along the roadmap.
• Manage cost targets and running estimates for ramp-up in development projects.
• Facilitate project sourcing activities including RFQs, supplier selection and negotiations.
• Support building business cases with R&D and Product Marketing.
• Lead project reviews on Design for Value, Cost and Manufacturing.
• Guard costs in development by aligning with R&D on specs, manufacturing or materials.

Are you ready to apply your engineering, project leadership and sourcing expertise to the world of product development and manufacturing? Join us as Senior Project Manager in Design for Value (DfV) and impact the way we design, develop, and manufacture products at GN Hearing in Ballerup.

The Team You Will Be Part Of

Based at our global HQ, located in Ballerup, Denmark, you will join the Design for Value team in Global Manufacturing & Operations, reporting directly to Director René Bergqvist.

In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders worldwide, ensuring value and cost are managed effectively and optimized in our products from the early concept phase through to mass production.

Your Contribution Is Appreciated And You Will

• Optimize products by supporting the organization with cost / value analysis in our products, modules, platforms and architecture
• Investigate and motivate for cost-effective design and manufacturability, e.g. via mapping of value / cost opportunities related to roadmap, product, and design options
• Manage cost targets and running estimate for ramp up in development projects
• Facilitate and support project sourcing activities including availability reviews, supplier selection, RFQs, and negotiations
• Support building positive business cases together with R&D & Product Marketing
• Facilitate and conduct project reviews related to Design for Value, Cost and Manufacturing
• Follow up and guard the cost in product development by working with R&D on their suggested specification, manufacturing or material selection

You will also work on introducing new technologies and innovations during product development and play a key role in approving targets and results before critical milestones are passed.

You will also support key cross-functional projects that are part of strategic initiatives (“must-win battles”) with significant value or savings impact from an Operations and Sourcing perspective.

Role

To perform well in the role, we imagine that you - besides having a technical mindset and a good business understanding - have:

• A degree or similar within engineering, preferably within electronics
• Experience within platform and product development, supplier sourcing or cost/value optimization in a R&D environment are positive differentiators
• Good at solving both technical and commercial issues
• General understanding of manufacturing processes and industrialization
• Experience with LEAN, Design for Value/Cost, or supplier sourcing in Asia, are positive differentiators
• Presentation, negotiation, and communication skills in English, both written and spoken

In addition, you have an engaging personality and possess facilitation skills, enabling you to build networks and engage stakeholders. You also possess solid analytical and problem‑solving abilities, which you use to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
