Job summary

Plans in Copenhagen is seeking a Design Engineer to deepen our end-to-end frontend, spanning iOS and web, with a focus on depth of craft and cohesive user experience.

You’ll prototype quickly in React/TypeScript, ship production frontend, collaborate with iOS engineers, and help raise the bar across surfaces while embracing AI-assisted tooling to improve first passes.

This role values hands-on builders who ship, care about climate impact, and mentor teammates as Plans grows.

Qualifications

• Production frontend in React, TypeScript and CSS, owned end-to-end.
• Strong UX/UI craft with hierarchy, typography, interaction and feel.
• Maker temperament who ships polished product and takes ownership.
• Fluent with AI-assisted development and embracing tooling to raise quality.
• User-focused with ability to handle ambiguity and drive decisions.
• Collaborates well with product and engineering to lift the team.

Responsibilities

• Raise the bar, everywhere across surfaces (iOS, web, documents).
• Bring depth of craft across platforms, ensuring a cohesive product feeling.
• Prototype quickly, then ship: final web frontend and close collaboration with iOS engineers.
• Make the team’s first pass great by embedding taste into shared components and design-system primitives.
• Start the design system and propagate patterns across surfaces.
• Explore new directions with net-new interfaces for new audiences.
• Partner across the team to ensure the right messaging for each audience.
• SWEAT the details: typography, hierarchy, states, and interaction quality.
