Job summary

Johnson Controls in Copenhagen is seeking an experienced BMS Engineer to deliver and commission complex datacenter projects involving Building Management Systems. The role ensures safety, quality, and customer satisfaction on site-based deployments.

You will manage design reviews, FAT, commissioning, handover, and documentation, coordinating with M&E contractors and end users. Strong HVAC/BMS experience and Danish-English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level qualification in electrical, electronic, or automation engineering or equivalent apprenticeship with >5 years BMS or control system commissioning experience
• Strong HVAC and BMS commissioning experience including AHUs and controllers
• Experience with fault finding in electrical starters and control circuits
• Experience with variable speed drives (VSDs)
• Familiarity with BMS industry-standard protocols
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Valid HS certification (e.g. Safe Pass or equivalent)
• Willingness to work onsite at Copenhagen area construction projects

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications and designs; identify commissioning risks with the Project Manager
• Validate design assumptions and contribute to scope and cost estimates with Operations
• Support proposal preparation and customer communication
• Execute software development and commissioning per project requirements and manage deviations
• Coordinate with M&E contractors, subcontractors, and end users
• Provide weekly status reports and escalate delays or risks
• Perform FAT, site testing, and commissioning with complete documentation
• Deliver system handover documentation for O&M manuals
• Verify installation quality and approve subcontractor electrical test documentation
• Maintain records of commissioning progress and system performance
• Develop, test, load, and commission BMS software and network controllers
• Create relevant drawings, equipment schedules, and submittals
• Validate system functionality and troubleshoot across disciplines
• Ensure compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations and site H&S
• Promote solution-oriented mindset to enhance customer satisfaction and contractual objectives
