Job summary

OrderYOYO is seeking a Data Scientist to join our FP&A team and bring predictive modelling, experimentation, and applied AI into a business-driven environment.

You will collaborate with senior leadership and multiple teams to translate business questions into statistical or ML problems, build and validate models, and deliver outputs that inform strategic decisions. This role offers visibility, growth, and a chance to shape the data strategy.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of data science/analytics experience in SaaS or similar.
• Strong Python skills and ability to build classification/regression models.
• Applied NLP and LLM experience with prompting/training.
• Experience deploying models in production or for business users.
• Structured problem-solving; break open questions into testable hypotheses.

About the Role

We’re seeking a driven Data Scientist to join our FP&A team - someone who’s eager to work directly with senior leadership and bring predictive modelling, experimentation, and applied AI into a team that already understands the business deeply. This is a high-impact role that offers real visibility and room to grow.

In this role, you’ll gain broad exposure across the business by collaborating with Management, Commercial teams, Tech, and the Data Platform team. You’ll help move the organisation from “what happened” to “what will happen” - translating business questions into statistical or ML problems, building and validating models, and delivering outputs that plug into the day-to-day work. As you grow, you’ll have the freedom to shape your path based on your strengths and interests.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:

• Build, validate, and explain predictive models (classification, regression, time-series forecasting, cohort and churn analysis) that connect directly to a business process.
• Apply NLP and LLMs to accelerate analytical workflows and unlock new capabilities - prompting, fine-tuning, and deploying language models where they sharpen the answer to a commercial question.
• Deliver model outputs in a consumable format, building and enhancing Power BI reports on our Microsoft Fabric data platform for management and internal stakeholders.
• Design and analyse commercial experiments (A/B tests, hypothesis-driven investigations, causal inference) to test what works before scaling.
• Assist with scenario analysis to help inform strategic decisions made at the leadership level.

What We Are Looking For In You:

• 1+ years of experience with data science, advanced analytics, or an analytics engineering role - ideally in a SaaS, marketplace, or subscription business.
• Strong Python skills (pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost). Able to build, validate, and interpret classification and regression models.
• Applied NLP and LLM experience. Comfortable prompting, training, and deploying language models to solve real problems.
• Experience building predictive models that were actually used in production or by business stakeholders - not just academic exercises.
• Structured problem-solving. Can take an open question and decompose it into a testable hypothesis or a well-scoped modelling problem.

Great to Have (But Not Required)

• Deeper ML & AI intuition - e.g. cross-validation strategy, the bias-variance tradeoff, regularization, gradient-based optimization, model calibration, SHAP-based explainability, and RAG vs. fine-tuning for LLM work.
• Exposure to Power BI, DAX, and/or Power Query.
• Experience or interest in working on cross-functional projects involving Tech/Product, Operations, Sales and Marketing.
• Working knowledge of SQL and comfort pulling data directly from a data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar).
