Job summary

Flatpay is seeking a Data Engineer in Copenhagen to design, build and maintain our scalable data platform powering insights and operations. You’ll work across systems, pipelines, and departments to ensure data is reliable, performant, and available where it matters most.

Your focus will be on developing and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, managing data models, and improving our infrastructure. All to enable smooth data-driven decision-making across the business.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Strong Python and SQL skills in production environments.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT design and data modeling principles.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows, version control (e.g., Git), and testing best practices.
• Ability to think logically and systematically when building and scaling data pipelines.
• Proactive and collaborative mindset with strong communication skills.
• Business-level proficiency in English

Responsibilities

• Design and write maintainable, scalable, and testable data solutions.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
• Collaborate with the team to develop, test, and deploy new functionality and improvements.
• Continuously enhance our CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting infrastructure.
• Lead and take ownership of your own projects within the team.
• Contribute to building and maintaining internal libraries and shared platform components.
• Actively participate in improving systems from an architectural and performance standpoint
