Job summary

Google Inc. in Fredericia, Denmark is seeking a Share Data Center Facilities Technician, Mechanical II to operate and maintain critical data center systems, including HVAC, power distribution, and monitoring equipment.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize facilities performance, participate in commissioning of new gear, read blueprints, and support 24x7 operations, with required certifications and readiness for shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in troubleshooting mechanical, cooling, and commercial HVAC systems.
• Ability to perform material handling (lifting/shifting), work on platforms and ladders, and access tight spaces (such as under raised floors).
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays to support 24x7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems such as piping and mechanical system components.
• Provide daily assistance to technicians as you read blueprints/schematics/sequence of operations, conduct tours of systems, and assess their working order.
• Manage the uptime and maintenance of water pumps and treatment systems, HVAC and control and monitoring systems.
• Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment.
• Support startup, commissioning, and integration of new mechanical equipment and systems into facilities infrastructure.

• Experience in the operation and maintenance of mission-critical facilities such as data centers, hospitals, power plants, and HV electrical substations.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, and control systems, including HVAC (e.g., cooling towers, chillers), power distribution (e.g., generators, UPS, ATS/STS), and monitoring (e.g., PDU/PMM units).
