Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Cybersecurity Manager to provide assurance across safety, RAM, quality, cybersecurity, HSE and human factors. You will define security requirements, support hardening and secure configurations, and manage vulnerability responses throughout the project lifecycle.

The role involves coordinating cybersecurity across systems and supplier configurations, reviewing designs and access controls, planning tests, and ensuring compliance with data protection and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in cybersecurity for rail/OT/industrial infrastructure.
• Knowledge of secure architecture and vulnerability handling.
• Ability to balance security controls with safety and maintainability.
• Proven ability to lead security reviews and escalation processes.

Responsibilities

• Define cybersecurity management plan and security requirements.
• Coordinate cybersecurity across systems, remote access and suppliers.
• Review designs, accounts/privileges, logging and patching processes.
• Plan security tests and incident-response preparation.
• Assess impact of changes and temporary configurations on security.
• Enforce Hitachi Code of Conduct and data protection standards.
• Lead vulnerability responses and evidence collection.
• Maintain authority over cybersecurity controls and secure-change practices.
• Escalate non-compliant security design/deployment decisions.
