Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding Denmark is seeking an experienced Customs Specialist to ensure compliant and efficient border trade. You will handle declarations, prepare documents, and coordinate with customers and authorities to secure timely clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in customs clearance and customs-related processes.
• Fluency in Danish and English, both spoken and written.
• Experience in freight forwarding or logistics is an advantage.
• Completion of Danske Speditører’s customs education programme is an advantage but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customs declarations for import, transit and export shipments.
• Register customs declarations for temporary imports and exports.
• Prepare various customs documents and certificates, including EUR.1, ATA Carnet, A.TR, T2L, etc.
• Discharge transit documents and close NCTS cases.
• Handle applications for customs refunds, import licences and corrections.
• Ensure customs clearance is completed within agreed internal and external deadlines.
• Support the monitoring and maintenance of customs warehouse accounts and contribute to AEO-related activities.
• Participate in departmental and customer meetings.
• Keep your customs knowledge up to date through internal and external training.
• Maintain an ongoing dialogue with customs authorities and DHL Global Forwarding customers.

DHL Global Forwarding (Denmark) are looking for an experienced Customs Specialist

At DHL Global Forwarding, customs is about more than just declarations - it is about ensuring compliant and efficient trade across borders in collaboration with customers and authorities.

As our new Customs Specialist, you will play an important role in ensuring that customs formalities are handled accurately, professionally and in accordance with both internal procedures and public authority requirements. You will work closely with customers, authorities and internal stakeholders to ensure timely customs clearance and a high level of compliance.

You will become part of a professional and experienced team where collaboration, responsibility and quality are essential parts of everyday work.

The position is based at Mineralvej 29, 9220 Aalborg.

Your key responsibilities in the role will be to:

• Prepare and process customs declarations for import, transit and export shipments
• Register customs declarations for temporary imports and exports
• Prepare various customs documents and certificates, including EUR.1, ATA Carnet, A.TR, T2L, etc.

The compensation package:

The base salary is determined by your qualifications and competencies. The position is graded and sits within a predefined payband. Besides the base salary you will have – just to mentioned a few of the benefits - a pension scheme, bonus scheme, 25+5 vacation days per year, and a "Fritvalgskonto" (a "saving account" equal to 10% of your annual salary) paid out in December.
