Job summary

Arup in Copenhagen is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead multidisciplinary site-development projects across Denmark, the Nordics and internationally. You will guide technical delivery, coordinate designs and reports, and mentor junior staff in a collaborative, BIM-enabled environment.

The role requires strong leadership, English proficiency and Danish readiness, with a focus on delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure while shaping Copenhagen's site capability.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering and approximately 8–10 years of relevant experience within a consultancy, contractor or local authority.
• Strong technical design capability across site infrastructure disciplines, including surface-water drainage, foul drainage and water-supply infrastructure, roads and car parks, earthworks, and underground utility design and coordination.
• A proven track record in delivering complex, multidisciplinary site infrastructure projects.
• Ability to technically lead and manage the design process on site infrastructure projects from early concept and planning through detailed design and construction.
• Strong experience using Civil 3D or comparable civil engineering design software, together with experience delivering coordinated designs within a multidisciplinary BIM environment. Familiarity with Revit is desirable.
• Professional proficiency in English and in at least one Scandinavian language, preferably Danish. An ability and willingness to work in a Danish-speaking project environment is important.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of civil engineering and utility infrastructure for complex site-development projects.
• Manage the production and coordination of designs, drawings, 3D models, specifications and technical reports, ensuring agreed quality, programme and budget requirements are met.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Represent Arup at client meetings, offering expert advice and developing innovative solutions.
• Help shape and grow our site infrastructure capability in Copenhagen, supporting project development, technical excellence and the development of junior colleagues.
