Job summary

Arup in Copenhagen is seeking an experienced Fire Protection / Systems Engineer to lead design and delivery of fire protection systems for diverse projects. You will manage technical delivery, ensure code compliance, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with architects and other disciplines.

The role offers exposure to landmark buildings across sectors, strong emphasis on safety, sustainability, and digital workflows (BIM). Fluency in Danish is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical/public health engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a consultancy or similar environment.
• Experience leading your discipline on complex projects and delivering the design from concept to contract.
• Strong knowledge of sector-specific legislation, codes and design guidance (e.g., NFPA, EN/UK standards).
• Proficient in BIM and able to drive digital transformation in delivery.

Responsibilities

• Take a lead design role for fire protection systems on standalone and multi-disciplinary projects.
• Develop and implement fire protection solutions including suppression, detection and ventilation.
• Coordinate with architects and other engineers to ensure intégrity of design and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews to share knowledge.
• Support business development and bid activities to grow the practice.
