Job summary

Charm Connect in Odense is seeking a qualified Librarian on a contract basis. You will manage the library collection, assist patrons with research, and promote library services.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Library Science, at least two years’ library experience, strong organizational and customer service skills. English fluency is required and Danish is a plus. This is an urgent opening; accommodation is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a library setting.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to work well with diverse populations.
• Knowledge of cataloging systems and online databases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Fluency in English; Danish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the library's collection by selecting, cataloging and organizing materials.
• Provide reference and research assistance to patrons in person, over the phone and through email.
• Promote library services and resources through outreach programs and events.
• Maintain the library's online catalog and ensure accurate record-keeping of materials.
• Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers as needed.
• Stay informed about current trends in literature, technology and library science.
• Collaborate with other libraries in the region for resource sharing opportunities.
