Job description

At the Novo Nordisk Foundation, we work to advance research and innovation to improve the health of people and the planet. We believe that communication plays an important role in achieving those goals.

We are currently looking for a new, permanent member of the Public Relations team to help us communicate the Foundation’s work and its impacts. You should have a creative, proactive mindset, an international outlook, and a flair for conveying complex stories in an understandable form to both broad and specific audiences.

You will work primarily to identify stories and produce content from our scientific areas. Topics could include quantum technology, biosolutions, and sustainable agriculture. Prior knowledge of working with science communication is an advantage, but not a requirement for the role.

You will work closely with colleagues across the Foundation, grantees, and with external partners in Denmark and internationally, as well as with colleagues in our investment company, Novo Holdings, a leading global life science investor.

What you will do

You will spend your time:

  • Producing articles, press releases, films, op-eds, impact stories, and other content for the Foundation’s channels, including social media.
  • Formulating and executing communication plans to ensure that the right messages reach the right audiences in Denmark and internationally.
  • Collaborating on and leading communication projects with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responding to media enquiries and doing proactive outreach to journalists in Denmark and elsewhere.
  • Working with Foundation spokespersons to increase transparency and dialogue with our stakeholders.
What you will bring

Our ideal candidate has five to seven years of relevant full-time experience.

Experience from outside Denmark and/or in an international organisation will be considered an advantage, as will skills in relevant AI tools.

We expect that you have:

  • A degree in communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Danish and/or international media and news distribution, e.g. as a journalist, in a communications department, or in a PR agency.
  • The ability to confidently drive processes and projects involving multiple stakeholders, and demonstrable evidence of this.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and written. An intermediate or higher level of Danish is an advantage.

As a person, you:

  • Are professional, quality-conscious, and detail-oriented
  • Are curious, creative, and open to new ideas
  • Enjoy collaboration, contribute to your team, and support your colleagues
  • Have a structured approach to problem-solving
  • Have a proactive, positive mindset
About us

We are 12 colleagues in the Public Relations department, including two student assistants. We are part of the wider Corporate Affairs area – which also includes Public Affairs and Digital, Design, and Branding – and we cover both the Foundation and Novo Holdings.

While we often work on individual projects, we’re a friendly, supportive team with regular formal and informal check-ins. We like to share knowledge and support each other with tasks and challenges.

More broadly, the Foundation is a professional but friendly workplace, full of skilled and passionate people. There is a clear focus on ensuring that colleagues thrive and have opportunities to develop.
