Phase One is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join the Global Operations Team at our Copenhagen headquarters. You will drive procurement strategies to support growth, profitability, and innovation across advanced imaging systems, while managing supplier relationships across Europe and Asia.

The role focuses on strategic sourcing, commercial alignment, and end-to-end procurement to ensure material availability and supplier performance in a fast-paced, international environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of procurement or sourcing experience in manufacturing.
• Proven experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing supplier relationships.
• Experience working in international supply chain environments.

About the job

As Purchasing Manager, you will execute procurement strategies that support business growth, profitability, product innovation, and operational excellence across our advanced imaging systems.

You will manage supplier relationships across Europe and Asia, negotiate commercial agreements, mitigate supply chain risks, and ensure availability of critical components for advanced camera systems and electronics manufacturing.

The ideal candidate combines strong commercial negotiation skills with a deep understanding of manufacturing supply chains and a proactive, data-driven approach to procurement.

Your responsibilities

Strategic procurement

• Execute sourcing strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining product quality and supply continuity.
• Identify new sourcing opportunities and alternative supplier solutions.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects through early supplier involvement.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers globally.
• Conduct supplier audits, business reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Commercial management

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and framework agreements.
• Deliver measurable savings and working capital improvements.
• Analyze spend data and market trends to identify commercial opportunities.
• Manage supplier risks and develop mitigation plans for critical components.

Operational procurement

• Manage your own supplier portfolio end to end.
• Ensure timely material availability for production and customer deliveries.
• Collaborate with Planning, Operations, R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams.

What we are looking for

Required

• Minimum 5 years of procurement or sourcing experience within manufacturing.
• Proven experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing supplier relationships.
• Experience working in international supply chain environments.

Preferred

• Experience managing international supplier relationships; experience with Japanese suppliers is an advantage.
• Knowledge of ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar.
• A BSc-level degree is preferred, but we also value substantial relevant experience and a strong track record of delivering results.
• Commercially driven and business oriented.
• Strong negotiator with proven influencing skills.
• Analytical and data-driven.
• Structured and execution focused.
• Comfortable working across different cultures and time zones.
