Job summary

Cadeler AS is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to design, build and operate the company's cloud data platform on Snowflake and Azure. You will partner with business teams, IT and information security to ensure trusted data for analytics and reporting.

You will own data pipelines, dimensional modelling, CI/CD in Azure DevOps and cost control, delivering curated datasets for Power BI and analytics across the organisation. Fluency in English required and a university degree in a relevant field.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant area such as computing, statistics or mathematics.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a data engineer or data platform engineer.
• Proven experience designing, building and operating production data pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills and strong Python skills for data processing, automation and tooling, and experience with dimensional modelling.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake (warehouses, RBAC, storage and compute management, cost control) and the Azure ecosystem.
• An understanding of data security, governance and access control principles, as well as ability to define and write logic that transforms raw data into useful, interpretable, business-driven datasets.
• Fluent spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate the technical foundations of Cadeler's data platform on Snowflake and Azure.
• Design, build and maintain data pipelines from various source systems in ingestion tools and Python.
• Orchestrate pipelines, manage dependencies, retries and backfills, and optimize Snowflake costs.
• Own CI/CD and source control in Azure DevOps: branching, PR reviews, automated deployments and environment promotion.
• Design and implement dimensional data models across raw, staging, integration and mart layers.
• Set up pipeline monitoring, anomaly detection and alerting, and troubleshoot incidents in production.
• Deliver curated, performant datasets and semantic-ready measures for Power BI reports.
