Job summary

Blackfield Associates is seeking a Client-side Lead Mechanical Engineer to provide technical oversight of Black Utilities through Detailed Design and into construction. You will act as the client's technical contact for mechanical/utility systems and coordinate with EPC and construction teams.

The role requires strong multidisciplinary coordination, experience in DD and construction, and preferred exposure to Pharmaceutical/API manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical engineering background in industrial/process environments.
• Experience with Black Utilities and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Proven ability to oversee DD to construction transitions.
• Pharmaceutical/API manufacturing exposure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering activities related to Black Utilities.
• Review design packages, layouts and documentation.
• Coordinate BU requirements with piping, electrical, HVAC, process and BIM disciplines.
• Review equipment selections, layouts and interfaces.
• Ensure constructability, installation access and maintenance considerations.
• Participate in design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Interface with EPC/design contractors and resolve technical queries.
• Support construction teams with technical issues and design changes.
• Maintain technical oversight through DD to construction transition.
