Job summary

Ramboll Group A/S in Copenhagen seeks a Senior/Chief Project Manager/Director to lead airfield projects across Denmark and abroad. You will oversee the full lifecycle, from planning to construction, guiding a diverse international team of aviation professionals.

The role requires 15+ years in civil works, strong leadership, and excellent English communication. ICAO/EASA BL knowledge is a plus, with a focus on airside assets and design standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within engineering, with a focus on civil works or similar.
• 15+ years of experience with civil works projects (airport design, road design or similar).
• Experience as Design Manager and/or Project Manager.
• Knowledge of airport projects and/or airport operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery for airfield projects in Denmark and internationally, owning the project lifecycle (planning, design, procurement, execution, handover).
• Contribute to Business Development and strategic initiatives, identifying opportunities and turning technical insight into commercial wins.
• Manage key client relationships and lead proposal development for selected opportunities, ensuring competitive submissions.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, setting technical and professional standards and promoting a collaborative, learning culture.

The Aviation Department in Ramboll Denmark is looking for an experienced and ambitious Project Manager for our increasing portfolio of airfield projects. About the role

You will become part of our Aviation team As our new Senior/Chief Project Manager/Director, you will become part of a dedicated international aviation team. We work primarily within the fields of planning, design and maintenance of airside infrastructure in Denmark and internationally. While the position and the hiring department is located in Copenhagen we collaborate with our aviation colleagues across our geographies in Europe, North America, India and Southeast Asia. You will hence become part of a diverse, international team, that works on airport projects throughout the full project cycle – from planning, through concept and detailed design to construction. Your future colleagues have strong experience within Master Planning, Geometric Design, Pavement Design, AGL Design, preparation of tender documents, construction supervision and maintenance of airside assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery for airfield projects in Denmark and internationally, owning the project lifecycle (planning, design, procurement, execution, handover), client relationships, budget control and resource coordination.
• Contribute actively to Business Development and strategic initiatives, identifying opportunities and turning technical insight into commercial wins.
• Manage key client relationships and lead proposal development for selected opportunities, ensuring competitive, high-quality submissions.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, setting technical and professional standards and promoting a collaborative, learning culture.

About you

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within engineering, with a focus on civil works or similar
• 15+ years of experience with civil works projects (airport design, road design or similar)
• Experience as Design Manager and/or Project Manager
• Knowledge of airport projects and/or airport operations
• Experience with complex multidisciplinary civil works projects
• Proactive and dedicated
• Excellent communication skills – English at a professional level is required; additional language, including English, skills are a plus.
• Knowledge of and previous use of relevant design standards (ICAO, EASA, BL) is a plus
