Job summary

Polytech seeks a procurement leader to drive global category strategies across engineering, operations, R&D, quality and finance. You will collaborate with stakeholders worldwide and support the Digital Procurement area to optimize total cost and ensure supply continuity.

You will help build a category-management culture in a hybrid setup, headquartered in Bramming with occasional visits to Herning. This role reports to the Head of Global Procurement and promotes sustainability and value

Qualifications

• Documented experience leading strategic procurement initiatives in a complex, cross-functional environment.
• Background from a manufacturing setting with direct raw-material sourcing.
• Experience with procurement tools and ERP systems (D365, SAP, Ariba).
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Procurement, Supply Chain or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of global category strategies based on business needs, stakeholders, and market dynamics.

• Conduct spends analyses, supplier performance reviews, and risk assessments.
• Establish long-term supplier relationships delivering value, sustainability and performance.
• Monitor category KPIs and communicate cost savings.

About the position:

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing global category strategies in close collaboration with stakeholders across the business, while also supporting our Digital Procurement area. As your stakeholders are located across our different sites, you will be working from both our Bramming and Herning locations.

Reporting to our Head of Global Procurement, you will play a key role in managing and executing strategic procurement activities and driving cost-down initiatives for our main products. You will have the opportunity to make your own mark on categories that have not yet been strategically explored, developing category strategies together with key stakeholders. Your efforts will directly support our goals of optimizing total cost, ensuring supply continuity, fostering innovation, and driving sustainable procurement practices.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

• Lead the development and execution of global category strategies based on thorough analysis and a deep understanding of business needs, stakeholder priorities, and market dynamics.
• Support the Digital Procurement area and contribute to shaping category strategies for areas that have not yet been fully strategically developed.
• Work in close cooperation with key stakeholders across engineering, operations, R&D, quality, and finance to align procurement efforts with overall business objectives.
• Support the transformation towards a category management-oriented procurement culture through knowledge sharing, stakeholder engagement, and best practice implementation.
• Represent Procurement in projects
• Support Sales by providing input on material costs for customer offer business cases
• Drive sourcing processes, including supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and contracting in accordance with defined category strategies.
• Conduct spends analysis, supplier performance reviews, and risk assessments to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
• Establish strong supplier relationships that deliver long-term value, sustainability, and performance.
• Monitor and report on category KPIs, e.g. cost savings

Your qualifications and skills:

• Documented experience in leading strategic procurement initiatives in a complex, cross-functional environment.
• Background from a manufacturing environment with direct sourcing of raw materials from global producers
• Experience with procurement tools and ERP systems (e.g., D365, SAP, Ariba).
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Relevant educational background as Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (able to influence senior management)
• Analytical, data-driven decision-making and problem-solving mindset
• Results-oriented and commercially focused, with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Resilience, adaptability and change-management capability
