Job summary

Skandinavisk Computer Rekruttering A/S is recruiting on behalf of IMC to build a new Energy Trading venture in Aarhus, Denmark. The role focuses on back-end development in C++ (or Rust), collaborating with traders and quantitative researchers to bring greenfield trading systems to production.

You will own modules from design through deployment in a fast-paced environment, mentor new team members as the group scales, and contribute to pricing, data analysis, and connectivity with exchanges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Maths, Physics or similar.
• 3+ years as Software Engineer.
• Proficient in C++ or Rust; Python/Java a plus.
• Fluent in English.

C++ Software Engineer (Energy Trading)

SCR is recruiting on behalf of IMC, one of the world’s most successful trading firms, as they build a new Energy Trading business in Aarhus, Denmark, the hub for power and gas trading in Europe. This new venture combines the energy and autonomy of a startup with the global reach, stability, and expertise of IMC’s 30+ years in trading.

IMC is establishing a strong, independent Aarhus-based team with local leadership, supported by the company’s world-class technology, quantitative research capabilities, and trading infrastructure. To support their ambitious growth plans, IMC is seeking talented Software Engineers to join the team and play a pivotal role in building and scaling this new business.

Your Core Responsibilities

• Build, as part of a team, a full technology stack that supports energy trading, including exchange connectivity, trading systems, trading strategies, data analysis, and pricing. IMC is looking for strong developers who specialize in back-end development, algorithms, trading systems, execution systems, or other relevant domains.
• Maintain and continuously improve the technology stack in close collaboration with traders.
• Support and mentor new team members as the organization grows.

Your Skills and Experience

• Strong academic background, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative field.
• 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong programming skills in C++ or a comparable language such as Rust.
• Experience with other relevant programming languages such as Python or Java is considered a plus.
• Experience in the European energy trading industry is a plus.
• Fluency in English.
