GlaxoSmithKline in Denmark seeks a Business Unit Head, Oncology, to lead the Oncology unit with accountability for strategy, commercial performance and people leadership. The role is based in Vallensbaek Strand with hybrid onsite presence.

The candidate should have a Master’s degree in a relevant field, 10+ years in leadership within pharma, and proven Oncology/Hematology experience, plus strong English skills and Danish market familiarity.

  • Danish language experience preferred.

Job purpose

As Business Unit Head, Oncology, you will lead the Oncology Business Unit in Denmark, with accountability for strategy, commercial performance and people leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial P&L, manage budgets and prioritise investment across channels
  • Build, coach and develop the commercial team with strong scientific and omnichannel skills
  • Set the strategic direction, drive launch readiness and execution plans to achieve the objectives
  • Build trusted external relationships with healthcare professionals, payers and patient groups
  • Be an active member of the Danish Leadership Team (DLT)
  • Ensure compliant, ethical conduct and strong risk management in all external activities

Basic Qualification
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business, Science, Pharmacy or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in comparable leadership roles within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven experience in Oncology and / or Hematology
  • Demonstrated people-first leadership experience, including responsibility for Sales and Marketing teams
  • Experience leading product launches or major brand life-cycle initiatives
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing a P&L or significant budgets
  • A strong track record in account management, omnichannel marketing and sales force effectiveness
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
Preferred Qualification
  • An advanced degree, such as an MBA or PhD, in a relevant field
  • Experience working with Market Access, Health Economics or payer strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effectively across matrixed, cross-functional teams
  • Fluency in Danish and previous experience in the Danish market
  • Global and / or regional and / or Above market experience

The annual gross base salary range for new hires in this position is listed above for each applicable location.
