Job summary

Aarhus Universitet seeks a Scientific Writer and Communications Specialist to translate cutting-edge biodiversity science into engaging stories for scientists, decision-makers and the public.

You will translate complex research into clear narratives, edit manuscripts and policy briefs, and create multimedia content. The role supports SustainScapes and collaborates with researchers to showcase research impacts on biodiversity and society.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in biology, ecology, environmental science or related field.
• Experience in scientific writing, communication, journalism, publishing or similar.
• Strong ability to develop engaging narratives from research findings.
• Experience editing scientific manuscripts, reports, or grant applications.
• Collaborative skills to work with researchers across disciplines.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a coffee table book highlighting the centre's journey, discoveries, people and impacts.
• Edit and refine scientific manuscripts, reports, and policy briefs for researchers.
• Communicate emerging discoveries and societal impacts to diverse audiences.
• Create stories around breakthroughs, field campaigns, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Present research findings through interviews, news pieces, visual storytelling and multimedia content.
• Develop engaging content for the centre's website, newsletters and social media.
