Job summary

Teton.ai ApS is seeking a strong backend engineer to scale the core infrastructure powering our healthcare platform. You will work on ingesting and processing real-time data from thousands of edge devices across care facilities, powering critical alerts and workflows used by healthcare staff around the clock.

Join a small, highly autonomous team in Copenhagen, collaborating closely with colleagues to deliver robust, scalable backend systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and operating backend or distributed systems.
• Experience designing reliable real-time data pipelines.
• Familiar with event-driven architectures and asynchronous systems.
• Ability to scale APIs and services handling high-throughput workloads.
• Experience operating production infrastructure with reliability requirements.
• Knowledge of database design and performance optimization.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment tooling.
• Strong debugging skills under pressure in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate large-scale backend or distributed systems.
• Design reliable real-time data pipelines that ingest data from edge devices.
• Work with event-driven architectures and asynchronous components.
• Scale APIs and services to support high-throughput workloads.
• Maintain production infrastructure with high reliability standards.
• Optimize database design, storage performance and queries.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and deployment tooling.
• Ensure reliability, observability and performance across the platform.
• Maintain MQTT infrastructure and edge communications.
