Teton is seeking a product-focused Backend Engineer to own the backend for new customer-facing features, sitting with the product team in Copenhagen. You will design APIs and data models, ship features to production and work closely with care workers and care managers to understand needs.

This role emphasizes privacy, security and fast iteration across markets. You'll collaborate with product, design and frontend engineers, contribute to real-time event systems, and travel to the US to meet

• Comfortable owning the backend side of product features, not only platform or infrastructure work.
• AWS or equivalent cloud platform experience.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

THE JOB

We're looking for a product-focused Backend Engineer who sits with the product team and owns the backend for new customer-facing features. Care workers and care managers rely on what you ship every shift, on mobile and on the web. This isn't a ticket-taking platform role. You'll work closely with users and product, design the APIs and data models new features need, ship them into production, and check afterwards whether what you built actually made a shift easier. Your goal is to shrink the time from a customer request to a reliable backend in production, without cutting corners on privacy of residents' health data.

In this role, you will focus on:

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience working closely with product managers, designers and frontend engineers on customer-facing features.
• Familiarity with real-time systems, event-driven architectures or push notifications.
• Experience with health data or other regulated, privacy-sensitive domains (e.g. GDPR).
• Experience shipping products across multiple markets and languages.
• Some frontend exposure (React / React Native) so you can reason about the full feature, even if backend is your focus.
