Job summary

VELUX in Denmark seeks an Engineer, Cloud Platform Lead to redefine how infrastructure is delivered across a global enterprise. You will shape the Azure platform, governance and automation strategy, driving AI-enabled engineering and operations.

Based in Denmark (Kolding or Hørsholm), the role emphasizes IaC, Terraform, and Git-based workflows, with collaboration across Infrastructure, Security and application teams and with HCL as a strategic partner.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
• Experience with cloud architecture, governance, networking, security and monitoring.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Git-based delivery workflows, preferably using Terraform.
• Experience with Azure Arc or a strong interest in hybrid cloud management.
• Possess a strong automation mindset and a desire to reduce manual effort through modern engineering practices.
• Are curious about AI and how it can be applied to cloud engineering and IT operationsCommunicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Have experience working with suppliers, managed service providers or outsourced operations.

Responsibilities

• Evolve Azure platform, architecture and cloud governance.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build reusable patterns, self-service capabilities and standardised solutions that simplify infrastructure delivery across teams.
• Explore and implement opportunities where AI can support engineering, troubleshooting, documentation and operations.
• Support FinOps initiatives and improve cloud cost transparency and optimisation.
• Expand and mature Azure Arc across our hybrid infrastructure environment.
• Collaborate closely with Infrastructure specialists, Security teams, application teams and external service providers.
• Provide technical leadership and help translate architectural ideas into scalable, reliable solutions.
• Help shape the future infrastructure operating model at VELUX, driving standardisation, simplification and automation across the organisation.
• Partner with our strategic operations provider, HCL, to continuously improve service delivery while strengthening internal platform and engineering capabilities.
