Job summary

Bavarian Nordic A/S is seeking an Automation Technician to join our Technical Support for Production Equipment. You will link production, equipment, operators, and IT to maintain automation functionality and compliance in our GMP environment.

You will lead automation projects, support IQ/OQ/PQ activities, participate in on-call rosters, and help ensure documentation quality. Fluency in Danish and good English are required, with a background in automation and production equipment.

Qualifications

• Automation technician degree or similar required.
• 5+ years of experience with automation-heavy production equipment in GMP/reg1ulated environments.
• understands GMP requirements and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support to production to ensure stable operation.
• Participate in an on-call roster.
• Drive updates, improvements, and troubleshooting on equipment and systems.
• Lead or contribute to deviations, change controls, and root cause analyses.
• Support IQ/OQ and PQ qualification activities.

Job description

In Short As an Automation Technicians, you will play a key role linking our production, equipment, operators, and IT department. You will be part of our equipment support team, with an initial focus on automation support for our Fill & Finish facility. Automation and control systems are central to our equipment and processes. To help the organization reach its ambitious goals, we are looking for a profile who will be working closely with production, equipment engineers, technicians, and IT. You will —take initiative and ownership of ensuring that the automation functionality performs as intended. This includes both documentation responsibilities and the practical hardware/software aspects. The role balances day-to-day operational support with participation in a wide range of projects, from smaller optimization tasks to larger upgrade initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide daily support to production to ensure stable and reliable operation
• Participate in an on-call roster
• Independently and/or in collaboration with others drive projects involving updates, improvements, and troubleshooting on equipment and systems
• Lead or contribute to deviations, change controls, and root cause analyses
• Help colleagues in performing qualification activities including IQ/OQ and support PQ
• Support a high documentation and compliance level through strong GMP practices, structure, and proactive initiatives

• Has a degree as an automation technician, or similar
• Has 5+ years of experience with operating automation-heavy production equipment—preferably from GMP or another regulated industry
• Understands and embraces GMP requirements and documentation practices
• Is ready to take responsibility for automation and control of our production equipment
• Works collaboratively, seeks solutions, and communicates clearly
• Speaks and writes Danish fluently and has good English skills

Experience with the following is an advantage:

• PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting (Siemens S7-300/1500 and HMI)
• iFix SCADA
• Servo systems and programming with IndraWorks
• Engineering Industrial communication (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet/IP)
• Data integration technologies (OPC UA, SQL, MES, Historian)
• Virtual environments (VMware)
• IT infrastructure (Active Directory, network, storage)
• Basic electrical design (P&ID, electrical diagrams, control schematics)
