Job summary

DESMI Danmark A/S in Denmark is seeking three Automation Engineers to contribute to challenging automation projects, grow technically, and join a dynamic, supportive team focused on sustainable flow solutions. You will help design and implement PLC and HMI software, electrical and communication systems, and system integration across DESMI products.

• Educational background in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with automation systems, PLC programming, electrical systems, or related disciplines.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into practical automation solutions.

• Team-oriented with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation solutions for DESMI products and systems.
• Design and implementation of PLC and HMI software.
• Develop and integrate electrical, control, and communication systems.
• Participate in system testing, commissioning, and technical verification.
• Prepare technical documentation and support material.
• Provide technical support for DESMI's global organization.
• Drive continuous improvements of products, processes, and technical quality.
• Ensure solutions can be handed over efficiently to Production and Service.

A glimpse into the role

As an Automation Engineer, you will become part of a global Automation team with 8 colleagues in Denmark and 2 colleagues in China. Automation is a key strategic focus at DESMI, and you will play an important role in further developing and strengthening our automation solutions.

We are expanding our team and are looking for engineers with different strengths and interests. Whether your expertise lies in PLC and software development, electrical and hardware design, system integration, or technical leadership, you will help develop robust and reliable automation solutions across DESMI's product portfolio. Working closely with colleagues across Product Development, Engineering, Production, Service, and Sales, you will contribute to delivering high-quality solutions that create value for our customers.

Depending on your strengths and interest, your main responsibilities could include:

Development and maintenance of automation solutions for DESMI products and systems

Design and implementation of PLC and HMI software

Development and integration of electrical, control, and communication systems

Participation in system testing, commissioning, and technical verification

Preparation of technical documentation and support material

Technical support for DESMI's global organization

Driving continuous improvements of products, processes, and technical quality

Ensuring solutions can be efficiently handed over to Production and Service

As someone who will join our Automation Team, we are looking for a skilled engineer who is a self-driven individual with expertise in automation technology, electrical engineering, or a related field.

We also imagine that you:

Have an educational background within Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

Have experience with automation systems, PLC programming, electrical systems, or a combination of these disciplines

Enjoy solving technical challenges and turning complex requirements into practical solutions

Have a structured approach to your work and take ownership of your tasks

Thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working with colleagues across functions and locations

Communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken

It would be an advantage if you have experience with:

PLC platforms such as Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal

Hardware design, electrical schematics, and documentation in SEE Electrical or similar CAD tools

Industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP/IP, or Profinet

Pumping systems, water treatment systems, or other industrial applications

Marine, defense, or other highly regulated industries
