Job summary

COWI, a leading international consultancy, is seeking an Associate Project Director in Lyngby to manage building projects from concept to completion.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, coordinate with clients, authorities, contractors and design partners, and oversee scope, schedule, risks, and costs with a focus on quality, safety and sustainability.

A relevant civil engineering or architecture background with Danish and English fluency and a proactive leadership style are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant academic background in civil engineering, architecture, or related discipline.
• Professional experience in Denmark with knowledge of the Danish building project lifecycle.

The Challenge

As Associated Project Director for construction projects in Denmark, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of building projects—from initial planning through to execution. Your role will encompass quality assurance, budget control, contractual and financial oversight, as well as the coordination of timelines and resources.

You will also act as the key liaison with clients and collaborate closely with stakeholders such as public authorities, contractors, and design partners.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading new construction and renovation projects from concept to completion
• Participating in large-scale projects as part of a broader project management team
• Managing complex stakeholder environments, clients, authorities, contractors, and design partners
• Maintain close collaboration with clients to ensure their needs and expectations are consistently met
• Overseeing project scope, schedule, risks, and cost management
• Ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and sustainability across all project stages
• Driving cross-disciplinary collaboration across COWI’s teams and geographies
