Job summary

Aarhus University invites applications for an associate professorship focusing on inclusive classroom collaboration and teaching that fosters student engagement in the higher education setting.

The successful candidate will bridge empirical and philosophical traditions, contribute to CED's research environment, and play an active role in university teacher training and innovative pedagogical development across AU.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field required.
• At least three years of postdoc or assistant professor work experience in a relevant position.
• Developed an independent, international research profile including topics like universal design, transformative pedagogy, student engagement, motivation, inclusion, experiential learning, embodied cognition, conflict, collaborative learning, belonging.
• Broad teaching experience including teaching university staff/faculty.
• Teaching certificate / pedagogical course certificate from previous postdoc or assistant professor period.
• Practical experience leading development projects within the field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internationally recognized applied research on inclusive teaching in higher education.
• Publish and communicate research internationally and in relevant Danish contexts.
• Fundraise externally for research activities at CED.
• Supervise younger researchers in relevant focus areas.
• Lead teaching development projects within your field of expertise.
• Collaborate with academic communities at AU to create experiments and innovate teaching.
• Teach broader (selected) topics at CED’s courses and workshops for AU staff/faculty, including course management and coordination.
• Support colleagues at CED in connection with other tasks by specific agreement.
