Job summary

The University of Southern Denmark invites applications for an Associate Professor position in ‘Experimental Nano-Optics’ at the Mads Clausen Institute, Center for Nano Optics (SDU). The starting date is Feb 1, 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge experimental research in nano-optics using advanced optical characterization and near-field microscopy (NeaSpec).

Qualifications

• PhD in physics (preferably nano-optics) with documented research in experimental techniques.
• Strong record of publications and international collaboration.
• Teaching experience at BSc and MSc levels with a teaching portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Teach and instruct graduate and undergraduate students.
• Supervise PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.
• Conduct cutting-edge experimental research in nano-optics.
• Engage in fundraising activities to support research.
