Job summary

SDU Mechanical Engineering (SDU ME) invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. The successful candidate will join the maritime group, contribute to teaching in the Bachelor and Civilingeniør programs, and engage in research on seakeeping, data-driven maintenance, and energy systems.

The role includes outreach to partners and active collaboration within SDU ME and IME.

Qualifications

• Completed a PhD degree in a relevant discipline.
• The ability to teach basic mechanical engineering curricula.
• Communication skills in English at an adequate level for research communication and teaching.
• Postdoctoral research positions (preferred).
• Co-supervision of PhD students (preferred).
• Teaching and course development (preferred).
• Funding applications (preferred).
• Collaboration with industrial partners (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise students in SDU ME programs and contribute to curricula.
• Engage in outreach and collaboration with external partners to strengthen research ties.
• Publish high-quality research outputs and contribute to knowledge exchange.
• Support grant applications and pursue external research funding.
