Job summary

University of Copenhagen invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Motor Control in the Kiehn lab. The role is a 4-year fixed-term position beginning January 15, 2027, based at the Department of Neuroscience, Mærsk Tower and Panum Institute.

The candidate will investigate neural circuits underlying movement using in vivo techniques, optogenetics, and viral tracing, with emphasis on research and teaching excellence.

Qualifications

• PhD in Neuroscience and strong background in motor control.
• Extensive in vivo and ex vivo neurophysiology experience.
• Experience with optogenetic/chemogenetic approaches and viral tracing.

Responsibilities

• Lead in vivo studies of neuronal circuits controlling movement.
• Publish results and contribute to scientific dissemination.
• Teach and mentor students; participate in pedagogical activities.
• Collaborate across departments and with international groups.
