Job summary

Aarhus University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in plant-microbe interactions at the Department of Agroecology. The role focuses on interactions between the barley genome and root microbial assembly, including drought resilience via microbiome dynamics. Start from 01-03-2027 or soon after, for a 3-year period.

You will design controlled experiments, integrate multi-omics data, contribute to teaching, and disseminate results through high-impact journals.

Qualifications

• PhD in plant-microbe interactions or plant microbial ecology.
• Proven ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience in teaching at BSc, MSc and PhD levels.
• Experience in writing research proposals for external funding.
• Research experience in plant genomics and microbiome analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct designed experiments on barley genome and root microbiome interactions.
• Integrate phenotypic data with genomic and microbiome data.
• Publish results in high-impact journals and contribute to teaching.
