Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a dedicated mechanic to join our team. The role focuses on diagnostics, planning repairs, and communicating with the Service Advisor to ensure safe, efficient maintenance.

You will perform repairs on mechanical and electrical systems, maintain a clean workspace, and promote TA services during inspections. A flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, is required, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; trade/technical school or prior mechanic experience is a plus.
• Willingness to expand knowledge via training programs.
• Able to work unsupervised and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Work in a service-focused environment exceeding customer expectations.
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results; develop a repair plan and relay it to the Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and electrical/mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Recommend TA services during inspection reviews with customers.
• Ensure safety of customers and employees.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Work in a fun, trusting environment focused on providing great service where the expectations of the customer are exceeded
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results; Develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor
• Repairing malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment; Complete repairs safely, effectively and efficiently
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Recommends other TA services with customer as part of inspection review process
• Maintain the safety of both our customers and employees

Qualifications

• A dedicated individual who works well with others and is excited to be part of our team!
• High School Diploma or GED; Graduate of acceptable trade school or manufacturer's technical school, or previous mechanic experience
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge via education and training programs
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays in interior and exterior conditions
• Meet the requirements for the needed physical tasks with or without accommodation

Pay Range

$17.00 - 19.00 per hour
