Job summary

Maersk Tankers in Copenhagen seeks an Application Manager - Shipping Applications to maintain and evolve critical shipping platforms such as IMOS and Sedna Stream. You will bridge commercial operations, finance and IT, ensuring reliable, secure and efficient systems across the global organization.

You will lead application-related projects, drive improvements, and translate operational requirements into practical technology solutions that create value for the business.

Qualifications

• Degree in Maritime Studies, Business, IT or related field with 3+ years of relevant shipping experience.
• Experience in the shipping industry, ideally in operations, chartering or voyage management.
• Experience with commercial shipping applications such as IMOS, Sedna Stream or similar platforms.
• Understanding of commercial shipping processes and supporting business-critical systems.

On behalf of Maersk Tankers, Copenhagen, MARPRO Group is looking for an Application Manager - Shipping Applications- for their office in Copenhagen. You will report to the Head of IT Operations and Applications of the company.

The job

In IT Operations & Applications, you will become part of a collaborative team of eight skilled and supportive colleagues who value knowledge sharing, continuous learning and teamwork.

As Application Manager - Shipping Applications, you will play a key role in maintaining, improving and evolving the business-critical applications that support the commercial shipping operations, including platforms such as Sedna Stream and Veson IMOS. These solutions enable chartering, voyage management, pool operations, performance monitoring and commercial decision-making across the global organization.

This role is well suited for someone who enjoys solving complex business challenges, optimizing systems and partnering with colleagues across Commercial Operations, Finance, and IT. You will help ensure the commercial applications remain reliable, secure and efficient while bridging business needs and technology capabilities. By working closely with stakeholders and vendors, you will manage the daily administration and configuration of key applications, troubleshoot issues and translate operational requirements into practical technology solutions that create value for the business.

You will also lead application-related projects and drive continuous improvements across the application landscape. In addition, you will maintain application documentation, configurations, processes and support procedures, while ensuring compliance with security standards, internal controls and regulatory requirements and supporting audits and governance initiatives.

Professional qualifications

• Degree in Maritime Studies, Business, IT or a related field, combined with 3+ years of relevant experience or practical experience within commercial shipping.
• Experience from the shipping industry, ideally within operations, chartering, voyage management or similar commercial functions.
• Experience working with commercial shipping applications such as IMOS, Sedna Stream or similar business-critical platforms.
• Understanding commercial shipping processes and supporting business-critical systems.
