Job summary

AURA is the radiology research unit at Aarhus University Hospital and is affiliated with the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University. This part‑time position (10 hours/week) offers involvement in AI and radiology research, with opportunities to contribute to publications and develop skills in data analysis and AI.

You will work at Aarhus University Hospital, reading and analyzing clinical data, developing AI methods, and collaborating with researchers and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a medical or natural sciences Master’s degree with interest in AI/research.
• Able to be physically present at the research unit when possible.
• Active participation in group meetings, journal clubs and other academic activities.
• Curious and motivated to develop as a researcher.
• Experience with language models or AI is advantageous.
• Experience with programming, scripting, or statistical analysis advantageous.
• Knowledge of Linux and command-line work advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Apply Large Language Models (LLMs) to extract structured information from radiology reports and clinical records.
• Contribute to research and quality improvement projects based on clinical data.
• Develop and validate AI-based methods for osteoporosis screening using conventional X-ray images.
• Collaborate with an external industry partner.
• Participate in new AI and radiology projects within the research group.
• Contribute to preparing scientific publications with first/co-authorship opportunities.
• Participate in group meetings, journal clubs, and other academic activities.
