Job summary

Avallone is seeking a Software Engineer (Applied AI) to help design and ship AI-powered workflows in a security- and reliability-conscious production environment. You will work across product, engineering, and AI to identify opportunities, design solutions, and bring them into production.

You will combine strong software engineering fundamentals with practical AI experience, working in a small, autonomous team using TypeScript/Node.js, AWS, and modern tooling to deliver customer-ready features.

Qualifications

• Significant experience (5+ years) as a software engineer building production systems.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js or another modern backend language.
• Experience with relational databases and distributed systems.
• Experience designing and operating customer-facing SaaS products.
• Hands-on AI in production with LLMs and AI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate AI-powered product capabilities in production.
• Improve retrieval, grounding, and answer quality across AI systems.
• Develop evaluation frameworks and feedback loops for AI performance.
• Create shared AI infrastructure, abstractions, tooling for the engineering team.
• Balance quality, latency, reliability, security, and cost in production AI systems.
• Collaborate with product and domain experts on KYC and compliance workflows.
