Zusammenfassung

TekSynap is seeking a senior virtualization and cloud infrastructure specialist to manage and optimize multi‑cloud environments, including DoD-hosted and commercial cloud offerings. You will implement, monitor, and secure virtualized infrastructure, and lead automation efforts to improve efficiency across hybrid deployments.

The role requires strong certification credentials, DoD-related experience, and the ability to work across diverse environments, including on-site and remote settings.

Qualifikationen

• Must have seven or more years of progressive experience managing and maintaining virtualized server environments and hosted applications.
• At least two years of experience managing large-scale projects involving virtualization, systems administration, and networking.
• Five years hands-on experience supporting DoD commercial cloud hosting solutions (desired).
• CCNA certification required.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE.
• CompTIA CySA+ certification.
• GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP).
• One of Google Cloud Platform certifications: Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect.
• One of AWS certifications: Practitioner, Security – Specialty, Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, or SysOps Administrator.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate / Azure Solutions Architect Expert / Azure Security Engineer Associate.

Aufgaben

• Manage and maintain virtualized infrastructure for on-premises data centers, DoD, and cloud offerings.
• Perform host, hypervisor, and virtual application implementations and upgrades.
• Provide cloud-based infrastructure support for VMs, virtual appliances, and related components.
• Ensure high availability, security, and integrity of hosts and resources.
• Monitor hypervisors and infrastructure; configure alerts and automate tasks.
• Install patches across development, test, pre-production, and production environments.
• Troubleshoot system problems on hosts, hypervisors, and virtual infrastructure.
• Create and maintain system documentation; track changes to configurations.
• Assist with capacity planning and performance tuning for virtualized systems.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and fault-tolerance strategies.
• Analyze performance trends to optimize environments across multi-cloud deployments.
• Develop custom scripts to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
• Apply expertise in network architecture, security, and routing (VPCs, load balancers, firewalls).
• Work in office or remote environments as applicable.
• Collaborate with Federal Government customers through TekSynap’s services.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain virtualized infrastructure for on-premises data centers, DoD, and commercial cloud-based offerings, including private, public, and hybrid clouds
• Perform host, hypervisor, and virtual application software implementations and upgrades across supporting hardware, software, and applications
• Provide cloud-based infrastructure support for virtual machines, virtual appliances, software, programs, applications, and virtualized infrastructure components
• Ensure high availability, security, and integrity of hosts, virtual management applications, and associated resources
• Monitor hypervisors, infrastructure, and virtualization applications, including alert configuration, error-log monitoring, and administrative-task automation
• Install host and virtualization infrastructure application patches and releases across development, test, pre-production, and production environments
• Troubleshoot system problems on hosts, hypervisors, and virtual infrastructure
• Create and maintain system documentation, including tracking changes to virtualized infrastructure configurations
• Assist with capacity planning, performance monitoring, and tuning for assigned virtualized systems
• Participate in virtualization disaster‑recovery planning and support fault‑tolerance and recovery strategies
• Analyze performance trends to optimize system and application performance across virtualized environments
• Support the design, implementation, and sustainment of complex multi‑cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS deployments
• Develop custom scripts to automate administrative tasks and improve system efficiency
• Apply expertise in network architecture, security, and routing, including VPCs, load balancers, and firewalls
• Work in office or remote environments as applicable
• Work with Federal Government customers through TekSynap’s information‑management and technology services

Requirements

• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience managing and maintaining virtualized server environments and hosted applications
• At least two (2) years of experience managing large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary projects involving virtualization, systems administration, and networking
• Five (5) years hands‑on experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) commercial cloud hosting solutions (desired)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
