Zusammenfassung

actana-consulting is seeking an experienced engineer to support the thermal run-away design of battery modules and to advance the thermal management design using CFD simulations. You will work closely with system engineering to drive a simulation-based design and optimization process across the development cycle.

The role requires strong CFD and heat transfer modelling skills, experience with Ansys Icepak/Flotherm/Comsol, and proficiency in Python or MATLAB.

Qualifikationen

• Completed studies in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or a comparable qualification.
• More than 3 years of professional experience in a similar position.
• Experience with battery pack design and simulation is beneficial.

• Support thermal run-away design of battery modules using calculation methods from 1st order principles to 3D CFD simulations.
• Support thermal management design for battery modules using similar methods.
• Collaborate with system engineering to establish and run a simulation-driven design and optimization process.
• Provide detailed reports for certification purposes.
• Assist shaping processes in the department.
• Handle ad hoc tasks or projects from management.

Your tasks:

• Support the thermal run-away design of the battery modules using calculation methods ranging from 1st order principles, e.g., Excel, to complex 3D CFD simulations
• Support the design process for the thermal management of the battery modules using calculation methods ranging from 1st order principles to complex 3D CFD simulations
• Work closely with system engineering to establish and run an efficient simulation-driven design and optimization process
• Provide detailed reports for certification purposes
• Actively support shaping processes in the department
• Work on ad hoc related tasks or projects provided by management

Your profile:

• Completed studies in the fields of Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable qualification
• More than 3 years of professional experience in a similar position
• Experience working on battery pack design and simulation, including thermal run-away is beneficial
• Excellent skills in state of the art CFD and heat transfer modelling
• Experience with thermal networks and reduced-order modeling
• Experience with system modeling and mechanical design processes would be a plus
• Experience in working with Ansys (Icepak), Flotherm, Comsol and Python or Matlab
• Very good knowledge of English
