Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is hiring a part-time proofreader/editor to clean OCR-processed news clippings, ensure accurate representation of headlines, captions and text, and verify completeness across pages and PDF exports.

The role requires fluent English and German at CEFR B2, excellent time management, and comfort with a proprietary publishing system. You will report quality issues to the team and submit a German cover letter describing your motivation.

Responsibilities

• Correct spelling mistakes in OCR-processed news clippings to ensure error‑free copy and a consistent style
• Ensure that headlines, photos, captions and other text zone types are correctly referenced and represented in the text
• Verify that news articles are complete and that no subsequent pages are missing
• Ensure that news clippings are correctly represented in PDF format
• Report any quality issues to the team

Requirements

• High proficiency in written English and German (minimum B2 under the CEFR standard)
• Availability to work from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (GMT+8)
• Strong time‑management skills; able to effectively prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast‑paced work environment
• Comfortable with digital platforms; able to quickly adapt to our proprietary publishing system and communicate technical issues to the team
• Must complete one assessment test before the interview and one live assessment test during the interview with a member of our team
