Zusammenfassung

Fraunhofer IIS in Erlangen offers a 6-month trainee program in Integrated Sensor Systems. You will participate in a comprehensive introduction to IC characterization and testing, and work on real projects under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art testing equipment, develop test setups, and collaborate across IC-Design and Product Management while growing through mentoring and tailored development opportunities.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related fields such as physics, mathematics, or medical engineering.
• Advanced experience in programming, ideally in Python.
• High level of motivation and the ability to work independently.
• Strong team spirit and good communication skills.
• Ideally a focus of study on Microelectronics and proficiency in handling measuring equipment.

Here’s How You Will Make a Difference

In the department Integrated Sensor Systems at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, we work on a wide range of sensor technologies for a wide variety of applications. For example, we are developing multispectral image sensors that can be used in agriculture to detect weeds. This enables selective pest control and saves on pesticides. Our magnetic field sensors are used, in washing machines, for example, to detect imbalances. In this way, they ensure that water and detergents are saved. Our innovative wide-bandgap semiconductor sensors enable highly sensitive environmental sensors for measuring air quality.

The position is initially limited to 6 months, starting in April 2027. The weekly working time is 39 hours. Appointment, remuneration and social security benefits based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD).
