We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for a Technology & Project Manager (m/f/d) within our Innovation & Engineering team to help support our Automotive business. As a Technology & Project Manager (m/f/d) you will support the successful delivery of technology and product development initiatives by aligning technical solutions with customer needs and business priorities. The role contributes market and technology insights, supports portfolio and roadmap discussions, and ensures structured governance and coordination of cross functional development programs. Through close collaboration with engineering, business teams, and customers, the position enables market ready solutions, effective product promotion, and smooth handovers to other functions.
Additionally You'll
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with OEM and Tier-1 customers and translate needs & requirements into technical inputs supporting new product definitions, product and technology promotion
- Analyse market and technology trends, identify portfolio gaps, support on defining USPs, and monitor pricing/competitive landscape
- Understand customer needs, guide solution proposals, and drive co‑development opportunities for future business
- Lead cross‑functional development programs from concept to launch, ensuring milestones, timelines, and risk management
- Align with Engineering on promotion readiness, prepare and deliver product promotion activities and materials, organize TechDays and participate in expos or present at conferences
- Mature the business aspects of new products and innovations (reference cost, USP, portfolio fit) and ensure handover to Sales/APD
- Facilitate new product awards by resolving cross‑functional blockers and aligning commercial projections and technical requirements
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment, decision-making, and clear communication with stakeholders and customers
To Be Successful, You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, MBA preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience within the Automotive industry and a technical customer-facing role
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to build trusted customer relationships
- Ability to understand customer technical needs and translate them into viable solutions
- Effective influencing, written, and verbal communication skills
- Solid project and portfolio management skills in cross-functional environments
- Proactive mindset focused on identifying opportunities and strengthening competitive positioning
- Global mindset with the ability to operate across regions and cultures
- Fluent German and English language skills
