Toyota’s Integrated Vehicle Systems Department seeks a skilled Technician who enjoys hands-on vehicle work, data collection, and supporting safe, high‑quality evaluations. You will maintain test vehicles and retrofit sensor systems while collaborating with engineering and technician teams.

Reporting to the Technician Supervisor, you will conduct evaluations on public roads and test courses, travel 30–50% as needed, and ensure reliable operations and accurate results.

Qualifikationen

  • Associate degree in a technical field or 2+ years of equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on experience using data-acquisition equipment to support vehicle testing.
  • Experience updating vehicle system software, troubleshooting via phone or video.
  • Experience interpreting electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, manuals and standards.
  • Experience using onboard diagnostic and CAN tools to troubleshoot vehicle systems.

  • Maintain the functionality and safety of test vehicles, equipment and facilities for reliable evaluations.
  • Retrofit, install, and maintain advanced driver-assistance and automated driving sensors and data-acquisition systems.

  • Collect, review, and analyze vehicle data to support functional and performance assessments.
  • Update vehicle system software and confirm proper functionality before testing and evaluation activities.
  • Diagnose vehicle and system issues using OB/D CAN tools, drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Build test fixtures and safely disassemble/assemble vehicle systems using hand and shop tools.
  • Travel domestically and internationally, approximately 30% to 50%, to support testing and business needs.

Who We’re Looking For

Toyota’s Integrated Vehicle Systems Department evaluates advanced driver‑assistance and automated driving systems against functional and performance requirements. We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Technician who enjoys hands‑on vehicle work, technical troubleshooting, data collection, and supporting safe, high‑quality evaluations.

Reporting to the Technician Supervisor, you will maintain test vehicles and equipment, retrofit vehicle systems, and execute evaluations on public roads and closed test courses. Your work will help ensure reliable test operations, accurate evaluation results, and a safe working environment for the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Success in this role means keeping vehicles, equipment, and testing environments safe, functional, and ready for evaluation. Each day may involve hands‑on vehicle work, system troubleshooting, data collection, and collaboration with engineering and technician teams.

  • Maintain the functionality and safety of test vehicles, equipment, and facilities to support reliable evaluation activities.
  • Retrofit, install, and maintain advanced driver‑assistance and automated driving sensors, data‑acquisition systems, and related vehicle equipment.
  • Execute advanced driver‑assistance and automated driving performance evaluations on public roads and closed test courses.
  • Collect, review, and analyze vehicle and system data to support functional and performance assessments.
  • Update vehicle system software and confirm proper functionality before testing and evaluation activities.
  • Diagnose vehicle and system issues using onboard diagnostic and controller area network tools, technical drawings, specifications, manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Build test fixtures and safely disassemble, modify, and assemble vehicle systems using hand and shop tools.
  • Travel domestically and internationally, approximately 30% to 50%, to support testing and business needs.
What You Bring
  • Associate degree in a technical or academic field, or 2+ years of equivalent work experience.
  • Hands‑on experience using data‑acquisition equipment to support vehicle or system testing.
  • Experience updating vehicle system software, confirming functionality, and providing or receiving troubleshooting support by phone or video conference.
  • Experience interpreting electrical system drawings, specifications, manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical standards.
  • Experience using onboard diagnostic and controller area network tools to troubleshoot vehicle system issues.
  • Valid driver’s license and hands‑on experience using hand and shop tools to build test fixtures and disassemble or assemble vehicles.
