The Role
A technical, hands-on role where you will:
- Deploy, commission, and demonstrate autonomous UAV systems and spatial AI software directly with strategic partners.
- Act as the technical bridge in the field, translating real-world operational feedback into actionable engineering requirements.
- Perform on-site system setup including sensor calibration, payload integration, radio link verification, and software configuration.
- Diagnose complex field failures systematically by inspecting Linux system logs, network telemetry, and physical connectors.
- Train external partners and operators to execute mission workflows safely and effectively.
- Travel to test sites, customer venues, and strategic field locations across Germany and strategic European regions (~50% travel).
The Essential Requirements
- Background in Robotics, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical field experience.
- Solid hands-on experience integrating, testing, and troubleshooting physical robotics, UAVs, or embedded systems.
- Proficiency with Linux command-line tools, terminal environments, C++/Python scripting, and system log analysis.
- Exceptional technical communication skills and confidence presenting complex technology to external partners under field conditions.
- EU work eligibility, valid driving license, and willingness to travel for field deployments.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Direct experience with UAV flight controllers (PX4, ArduPilot), MAVLink protocol, or QGroundControl.
- Practical knowledge of camera/IMU calibration, radio/networking links (LTE/5G, RF interference), or ROS2/Docker.
- Experience in student UAV initiatives or fast-paced defense/aerospace scale-ups.
