Zusammenfassung

NexWafe in Freiburg is seeking a Team Lead Process Equipment Engineering & Simulation to drive development of advanced process equipment for epitaxy and porosification technologies. You will lead simulation and engineering activities, bridging Process Development and Design Engineering to optimize fluids, thermal and structural performance.

Lead the Simulation Engineering team, set standards, manage priorities and risks, mentor staff, and translate process requirements into simulation objectives

Qualifikationen

  • Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years in simulation engineering or comparable high-tech industries.
  • Minimum 2 years of technical leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, electrochemical processes, and material compatibility.
  • Experience applying CFD, thermal, structural, or multiphysics simulations; familiarity with COMSOL/ANSYS is desirable.

  • Support design decisions with engineering analysis and simulation results.
  • Evaluate materials for process compatibility and contamination risk.
  • Translate process requirements into simulation objectives.
  • Validate simulation results against test and operational data.
  • Support development of epitaxy and electrochemical etch equipment.
  • Reduce development risk through predictive engineering analysis.
  • Establish standards across Design Engineering.

To support our next phase of growth and industrialization, we are seeking a Team Lead Process Equipment Engineering & Simulation (f/m/d) to drive the development of advanced process equipment for our groundbreaking epitaxy and porosification technologies.

In this key leadership role, you will lead simulation and engineering activities that enable the design, optimization, and scale-up of highly sophisticated manufacturing equipment. Acting as the central link between Process Development and Design Engineering, you will provide expert insight into fluid dynamics, thermal behavior, structural performance, and process efficiency, ensuring that our technologies meet the highest standards of purity, reliability, and operational excellence. Your expertise will play a critical role in accelerating innovation, improving equipment performance, and supporting NexWafe's mission to make solar energy more sustainable, affordable, and scalable worldwide.

Your Mission
  • Lead and develop the Simulation Engineering team.

  • Direct CFD, thermal, structural, and multiphysics simulations.
  • Support design decisions through engineering analysis and simulation results.
  • Evaluate materials for process compatibility, purity, and contamination risk.
  • Translate process requirements into engineering specifications and simulation objectives.
  • Validate simulation results against test and operational data.
  • Support successful development of epitaxy and electrochemical etch equipment.
  • Reduce development risk through predictive engineering analysis.
  • Establish simulation and material‑selection standards across Design Engineering.
  • Strengthen simulation and process engineering capabilities within the organization.
  • Plan and execute engineering sprints as part of mid‑term technology project plans.
Your profile
  • Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in simulation engineering, semiconductor equipment development, or comparable high‑technology industries.
  • Minimum 2 years of technical leadership experience of multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, electrochemical processes, and material compatibility.
  • Experience applying CFD, thermal, structural, or multiphysics simulation tools to engineering problems. Familiarity with COMSOL Multiphysics or ANSYS is desirable.
