AWS EMEA SARL (Germany Branch) in Munich is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to drive migrations and modernization of on-prem workloads to AWS, focusing on VMware-based migrations and EU South region. You will collaborate with sales and product teams, advocate for customers, and contribute to field enablement.

The role requires deep knowledge of VMware, .NET modernization, Linux, and Windows workloads, plus fluent German.

• Work alongside your aligned sales specialist to provide business support, develop go-to-market motions and scaling mechanisms within the Germany and EMEA region.
• Represent the voice of the customer; collaborate with field and Germany teams to bring customer feedback to product teams.
• Provide specialist technical knowledge to your aligned specialist teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
• Collaborate with your WWSO colleagues to provide technical insights into GTM strategy and support field marketing to execute local technical events, campaigns, and customer engagements.
• Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent
• Create internal field enablement materials for the broader SA population to help them understand how to migrate VMware on premise datacenters to AWS migration pathways.
• Become an active member and contributor to the AWS Technical Field Community (TFC) within your specialist domain

Description

Are you a customer-obsessed Solution Architect with a passion for helping customers achieve their full potential? Do you have a background in Migrating and Modernization on-premise workloads to a cloud hyperscaler, do you also have commercial awareness necessary to help position AWS as the cloud provider?

We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Senior Solution Architect to join the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) in the Infrastructure Migration and Modernization (IMM) team. This role will focus on our European South region based out of our Munich office. As an IMM Solution Architect, you will help drive solutions for our customers who are aiming to migrate their workloads typically residing on VMware on premise solutions to AWS native technologies via our many VMware migration pathways. You will also have a good understanding of Microsoft technologies including .NET frameworks and other workloads including Linux, VDI, storage, database and Container solutions. Fluent German is a requirement for this role.

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large-scale technology projects for global customers
• Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
• Experience in datacenter consolidation and private cloud solutions including vSphere with cloud automation
• AWS Industry certifications such as - VMware VCP/VCAP, Microsoft Azure Certifications, AWS Solution Architect
