• Translate functional requirements into technical logic, ensuring accuracy and scalability of automation workflows
• Perform unit testing, system testing, and validation of automation solutions prior to deployment
• Support production deployments, including release readiness, implementation, and post-production monitoring
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects, errors, and performance issues in production automation processes
• Maintain and enhance existing automation solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and throughput
• Monitor automation performance and system health, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement
• Ensure adherence to established technical standards, coding practices, and control requirements across all automation solutions
• Partner with Process/Governance teams to evaluate the technical feasibility of automation opportunities
• Collaborate with Supervisors and Operations teams to ensure solutions align with real-world execution needs

Job Description Summary

The Application Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions that support claims processing workflows within the Rocket Automation platform. This role partners closely with business, governance, and operations teams to translate defined requirements into scalable, reliable automation capabilities. The Developer serves as a technical expert, ensuring solutions are built to enterprise standards and operate efficiently in production, while supporting continuous improvement of automation performance and stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance automation solutions based on clearly defined business requirements and processing rules
• Translate functional requirements into technical logic, ensuring accuracy and scalability of automation workflows
• Perform unit testing, system testing, and validation of automation solutions prior to deployment
• Support production deployments, including release readiness, implementation, and post-production monitoring

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare claims processing or adjudication workflows
• Experience working with large-scale batch processing or high-volume transaction environments
• Familiarity with enterprise automation platforms (e.g., Rocket/AutoiQ or similar tools)
• Experience in regulated or audit-sensitive environments
• Leadership Competencies Demonstrates strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to operate effectively in a structured, process-driven environment
• Partners effectively across technical, business, and operational teams
• Applies sound judgment in resolving technical issues and tradeoffs
• Supports continuous improvement and innovation within automation processes

Additional Job Information

This role does not define business processes or requirements; instead, it focuses on executing technical solutions based on validated and approved designs. The role is critical to ensuring that automation solutions are reliable, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards. Position may support both First Pass and Rework automation lanes.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $67,900.00 - $199,144.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
