Zusammenfassung

Chain IQ Group AG is seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead strategic sourcing for national and international corporate travel. You will manage the full sourcing cycle from demand analysis to award recommendations, driving value in cost, service quality and sustainability.

You will advise clients, coordinate with suppliers and internal experts, and collaborate across regions to implement local and global travel sourcing strategies. Fluent English is required; German is a plus.

Role purpose

In this role, you will be responsible for strategic sourcing and procurement projects for national and international clients in the area of corporate travel. You will manage the full sourcing process from demand analysis, market assessment, tendering and negotiations through to award recommendations, creating measurable value in cost, service quality, traveller experience, compliance and sustainability.

As a trusted advisor, you will support clients in developing travel sourcing and supplier strategies, identifying optimisation opportunities and implementing commercially sound procurement solutions across complex travel categories. You will work closely with clients, suppliers and internal subject‑matter experts.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing projects in corporate travel from analysis through to award recommendation.
• Develop and implement sourcing and category strategies for travel-related services.
• Run RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, bid evaluations, supplier negotiations and award processes.
• Source and optimise travel services such as air travel, hotels, travel management companies, ground transportation, meetings and events, and travel technology platforms.
• Advise clients on market trends, supplier strategies, service models, travel policy implications and commercial options.
• Conduct spend, cost, market and benchmark analyses and translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, demand management, policy compliance and programme optimisation.
• Build and develop supplier relationships, framework agreements and partner networks.
• Track supplier performance against relevant KPIs, SLAs and business requirements.
• Prepare sourcing recommendations, business cases and supplier decision papers for client stakeholders.
• Identify and implement improvements in cost, quality, process, compliance, traveller experience and sustainability.
• Manage relevant stakeholders on client, supplier and internal company side.
• Collaborate with international teams to implement local, regional and global travel sourcing strategies.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, category management or supplier management in corporate travel or a closely related corporate services category.
• Sound knowledge of one or more travel categories such as air travel, hotels, travel management companies, ground transportation, meetings and events, or travel technology.
• Experience in independently managing sourcing projects, tender processes, commercial negotiations and award recommendations.
• Good understanding of commercial, operational and service‑related drivers in corporate travel programmes.
• Experience in developing and implementing sourcing and supplier strategies.
• Strong analytical skills and confidence in working with spend data, pricing models, benchmarks and business cases.
• Structured, independent and results‑oriented way of working.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Enjoyment of client interaction, project responsibility and international collaboration.
• Fluent English skills; German or further languages are an advantage.
• University degree or comparable qualification in business administration, procurement, travel management, hospitality, finance or a related field.
