Heraeus is seeking a Solution Architect (m/f/d) in Production Planning to lead SAP PP/PP-DS implementations and continuous improvement. The role involves collaboration with international stakeholders, optimization of planning processes, and integrating automation and AI-driven solutions.

The position requires strong ABAP skills and experience with SAP S/4HANA, IBP, and related tools, with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and excellent German/English communication.

• Take on a key role in the further development of our SAP S/4HANA Production Planning landscape, helping to ensure that our planning and manufacturing processes remain efficient, stable, and future-ready.
• Join a collaborative environment where you can explore different areas of SAP Production Planning and find the role that best matches your strengths. Contribute to end-to-end process optimization and develop expertise across SAP PP, MM, PP/DS, and IBP while working on requirements, customization, implementation, and integration.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement automation, digitalization, and AI-driven solutions. Assess emerging technologies for their potential in the manufacturing and production planning domain and translate AI use cases into robust functional and technical concepts.
• Implement enhancements such as User Exits, BAdIs, and functional specifications, ensuring high system and process quality through comprehensive testing and quality assurance measures.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of production planning capabilities by supporting business users in both day-to-day operations and global transformation projects.
• Support global rollouts, release upgrades, and incident and change management processes in close collaboration with the Solution Architect and international stakeholders. Play an important role in improving master data quality, driving process standardization, and advancing the digitalization of our global production planning landscape.

Your profile:

• Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in consulting, support, or implementation of SAP Production Planning (PP)
• Alternatively: motivated ABAP developers with willingness to grow into PP process expertise
• Strong hands-on experience in ABAP and ABAP Objects
• Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA (experience preferred)
• Experience in integrated planning tools such as SAP IBP, SAP PP-DS, SAP APO, or other vendor tools is an advantage
• Strong communication skills in German and English
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to improvement
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills as well as structured, independent, and committed working style
